Surprise Surprise: Holly Willoughby confirms she will step into Cilla Black's shoes but will she sing too?

She has already become a fan favourite by hosting This Morning on ITV1.
However, Holly Willoughby is set to win the hearts of a whole new fan base after she confirmed that she will host a new series of Surprise Surprise.
The 31-year-old revealed the news earlier today, live on national television as she co-hosted This Morning with Phillip Schofield.

She said excitedly: 'Now a bit of breaking news for you - Surprise Surprise is back on ITV1 and I'm hosting it!'
However, unlike her famous Scouse predecessor, it is unclear if she will sing the theme tune on the show.
She said: 'Although we haven't discussed whether I'm going to sing at the top of the show like Cilla used to yet!'

The mother-of-two will step into Cilla Black's shoes on the show which will feature uplifting features, such as bringing distant relatives back together as well as trademark practical jokes and prank phone calls.
When Phillip admitted that he hoped she would sing, Holly broke into song and said: 'I think I can do it!'
The first show will air in the autumn and will add to the busy schedule of the former Dancing On Ice presenter.

Holly also appealed to viewers for their help in making the show special and asked them to email candidates for the show to surprisesurprise@itv.com.
She said: 'But I need your help - this is very important - do you know someone who deserves a special treat, deserves their dream to come true and have the surprise of a lifetime?'
She continued: 'Maybe someone who's lost touch with the family and they need to be reunited, maybe a teacher, soldier, or a hero in the emergency services who deserves a special reward? Or it could even be an unusual marriage proposal that your fiancé will never ever forget.'

Surprise Surprise was a huge hit in the late eighties and nineties when it was fronted by Cilla Black from 1984 to 2001.
The former lingerie model can be seen on new BBC show The Voice, which will be going head to head with Britain's Got Talent.
