Jacqueline Jossa announced as the new Lauren Branning.
You'll soon see a new actress in the role of Lauren Branning, played by newcomer Jacqueline Jossa.
We can reveal that Jacqueline has lots of new and exciting things in store for her as the new Lauren, with the cynical teenager set to stir up some trouble on Albert Square. It seems like only yesterday that she was Tanya and Max's little girl, but is now all grown up, and is determined to make sure that everybody knows it!
Despite her seemingly tough exterior, deep down Lauren's a sucker for love and at times can be quite vulnerable. She's one of those rare girls who go for personality over looks - and wants nothing more than the right guy to sweep her off her feet. But she'll never let you know that!
"I was so excited when I got the call to say I'd got the part in EastEnders," Jacqueline told us. "I've always been a massive fan of the show and it's a dream come true. The character of Lauren Branning will be really fun to play and there are some exciting things coming up."
"Maddie Duggan did a great job of playing the young Lauren Branning, and we wish her the very best of luck for the future," Executive Producer of EastEnders, Bryan Kirkwood added.
"I'm delighted to welcome Jacqueline Jossa to Albert Square. Jacqueline's portrayal of Lauren has all the classic Branning qualities of toughness, cynicism and sensitivity. Jacqueline is set to be at the heart of Walford drama for some time to come."
Jacqueline will be seen onscreen as the new Lauren later in the year.

Some Great shots from http://www.danmedhurst.com/blog for Eastenders
"Back on the square guvnah: I was asked back to the BBC Elstree studios this month to shoot some portraits with Eastenders actor Jacqueline Jossa; You may recognise her as she plays Lauren Branning in the soap. Jacqueline has been nominated for 'Best Newcomer' at this years National Television Awards. Its slightly surreal being on the set of Eastenders anyway, but when you are being heckled by Billy Mitchell and Max Branning mid shoot, its even more bizarre. Fortunately Jacqueline is a pro and wasn't phased by her audience. Here are a couple of the images from the session."
