She has certainly been centre stage in more ways than one as the wannabe Karen Cartwright on NBC Broadway drama series Smash.
And now Katharine McPhee is very much the centre of attention in the fashion stakes too, as she poses for a new photo shoot for Elle magazine.
The 27-year-old singer and actress cuts a stunning figure in an orange and black Bottega Veneta dress and Tom Ford sandals.

With her hair down, she is styled for a 'first date' look and stands alone under the spotlights in a theatre.
Another shot shows her looking a little more demure in a grey short sleeved silky Jason Wu dress and maroon coloured velvet sandals for a 'job opening' look, styled by creative director Joe Zee.
And Megan Hilty, who plays Katharine's arch rival Ivy Lynn on the show, also got a slice of the action, posing in a 'job opening' style in a geometric jacket over a corset style Bottega Veneta dress.

The ladies were looking a little more casual yesterday as they stepped out in New York in a break from filming.
Megan wore jeans and a black sweater before changing into a jade shirt, while Katharine wore jeans and a royal blue top while cuddling her adorable pet chihuahua.
Their co-star Debra Messing, who plays Julia Houston, a songwriter and the musical's co-writer, was also spotted out yesterday in a blue shirt, floor length skirt and black leather boots.

Although Ivy and Karen are the main rivals for the lead part, it emerged recently that Uma Thurman is soon to join the cast as a third contender.

Her character, the demanding Rebecca Duvall, is sure to create something of a stir, but she'll be hard-pressed to draw all the attention from stunning Katharine.
Earlier this week, Katharine revealed on Twitter that she and the cast are nearing an end to completing the latest season of Smash.
She wrote: 'Goodnight tweeps...5:30 am is coming soon. Only 6 days left of shooting Smash to complete season 1.'
