She's known for her experimental and adventurous style.

But even brunette beauty Rihanna likes to work a more relaxed look from time to time.

The 24-year-old tweeted a topless picture of herself working her natural locks in a sexy messy bun.

She covered her modesty with one arm and what looked like one of her blonde wigs, and cheekily captioned the pic 'Where have you been all my life?'.

The darker look makes a marked contrast to the blonde styles Rihanna has been showing off recently, notably at the Grammys and BRIT awards.

The We Found Love singer sported a curly blonde weave at the Grammy awards, and both a straight up 'do and funky wavy tresses for her BRITs appearance.

The star showed off her enviably flat stomach, which looks more toned than ever recently as she appears to have lost some weight.

On a more serious note, Rihanna has reportedly made it known that she wishes to become involved in the Invisible Children charity's Kony 2012 campaign.

According to TMZ the singer was deeply moved by the organisation's viral video to raise awareness about the Ugandan warlord.

She tweeted yesterday: 'PLEASE go to http://www.Invisiblechildren.com Even if its 10 minutes... Trust me, you NEED to know about this! #1LOVE'

Better than before: Rihanna's father said the singer looked 'excellent' at the Grammys, after telling her she had looked a 'little fat'
'I thought she was fat last time I saw her': Rihanna's father told the singer she was too tubby... but says she now looks 'excellent'
On duty: Rihanna wore a blonde weave for the Grammys last month, a contrast to her relaxed natural style on holiday earlier this year

There's one other pop star who hasn't been so impressed with the songstress's public efforts lately however.

Pop Idol winner Will Young told Yahoo: 'I don't think Rihanna is a massively great role model for women, her lyrics aren't empowering,'

'She's a brilliant pop star and recording artist but her lyrics are not empowering - young girls have to listen to those lyrics.'

'Women in a patriarchal society should be empowering and owning their bodies, I don't think Rihanna is. I feel quite strongly about this.'

'I'm more interested in female pop stars that are empowering for women as a feminist myself,' he argued.
