Hats off to her! Zara swaps riding hat for elegant pillbox as she attends first day of Cheltenham Festival

She is a fine horsewoman herself, having last week taken the title at the Tweseldown Horse Trials. But today Zara Phillips was very much off-duty as she attended the Cheltenham Festival wearing a sophisticated Forties-inspired outfit.
Swapping her riding hat for a much more elegant grey pillbox by milliner Jane Taylor, the Queen's granddaughter joined fellow National Hunt fans for the first day of racing at the Gloucestershire course.
She wrapped up against the crisp March air in a charcoal grey faux fur-trimmed coat cinched in the middle with a wide belt, which she accessorised with a snakeskin clutch bag and simple black courts.

Zara was one of 50,000 fans who gathered to take in the first of four days of racing this afternoon.
Elsewhere, other celebrity guests at the course included Ronnie Corbett, TV presenter Dermot O'Leary and TV chatshow host Jeremy Kyle, who attended with his wife Cara.
The winner of the first race was Cinders and Ashes, ridden by jockey Jason Maguire.
