Stepping into SJP’s shoes: AnnaSophia Robb gets to work on set of the Carrie Diaries

She has landed the daunting task of taking on the iconic role of Carrie Bradshaw.
But instead of seeming nervous at the prospect, AnnaSophia Robb looked up for the challenge as filming of The Carrie Diaries kicked off in New York today.
The 18-year-old had clearly enjoyed a fruitful day as she left the set with a smile across her face after shooting scenes for the Sex and the City prequel alongside her co-stars.

She looked fresh faced with minimal make-up and was certainly channelling the role made famous by Sarah Jessica Parker as she sported Carrie’s trademark curly blonde locks.
And the actress showed off a hint of Carrie’s unique style for the scenes, although in a rather less glamorous format.
She wore a baggy red jumper with grey stripes, along with a knee-length denim skirt.

Whether or not the young Carrie will already have developed a love affair with shoes is yet to be seen, as the actress was only spotted sporting brown UGG boots to keep her feet cosy in between takes.
She also kept her legs warm in a pair of black leggings which she whipped off for filming to reveal her slender pins.
AnnaSophia wrapped up in a hooded blue spotted coat and covered up her colourful outfit as she left the set.

The upcoming CW series, which is set in the Eighties, follows Carrie in her high school days as she attempts to forge a writing career.
Also on set was Stefania Owen, who plays Carrie’s sister Dorrit, and Ellen Wong, who plays her best friend Jill Thompson.
Jill is nicknamed The Mouse, who is described as an intelligent and loyal friend, and Ellen was seen wearing a knitted jumper over a denim shirt and jeans as she got to grips with the character.

Meanwhile Dorrit is a 14-year-old rebel who frequently gets into trouble, and Stefania was n set sporting smoky eye make-up, a khaki jacket, leopard print top, skinny jeans and black combat boots.
As the TV show, which is created by Gossip Girl’s Josh Schwartz, will see Carrie discovering her notorious style, so AnnaSophia has been finding her own fashion feet.
The actress, who previously starred in Soul Surfer, stole the show at a Salvatore Ferragamo event last night as she donned a stunning mini-dress by the designer, with cut-out back in a jungle-inspired print.
