Fresh-faced Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence pictured before she was famous

She has seen her star rise very quickly thanks to the release of the hotly anticipated Hunger Games.
But Jennifer Lawrence’s acting coaches still remember her as an enthusiastic young girl hoping to make it big in Hollywood.
The 21-year-old strarlet can be seen as a fresh faced youngster during a showcase at her acting school in 2005.

The images show Lawrence portraying the role of Shakespeare’s Desdomona as a peer brushes her golden hair during the Othello scene, which was part of a production at the Walden theatre.
Her acting coach at the theatre class, Charlie Sexton, spoke of the teenager’s desire to move to New York to pursue her career, even at a young age.

‘We didn’t get a lot of 8th graders saying, “I’m going to New York.” I got a sense that she was way more determined than most of the kids her age.’
He also told of Jennifer’s fast-learning abilities and how they would have helped her when it came to filming The Hunger Games.

He said: ‘I’ve seen her movies. My sense was that she didn’t need a lot of directing, she just picked up stuff straight away. In interviews she seems very confident. 'Every once in a while, you see that they’ve got that thing that you want. I remember taking roll and she stood out.

Sexton wasn’t the only coach to teach Lawrence and Flo Salant Greenberg has also spoken out about her time with the young star.
Greenberg has taught a string of now famous faces and her alumni includes Kirsten Dunst, Katherine Heigl, Emmy Rossum and Matt Le Blanc.
She said: ‘Jennifer has incredible instincts. As an acting coach, you look for people who have excellent emotional instincts and Jen is one of those rare people who works from her own natural instincts. Consequently, when she came to me, she was brilliantly talented.’

Greenberg believes her former client has a bright future in acting and described Lawrence as ‘lovely’, ‘versatile’, and ‘sensitive’.
She added: ‘She was wonderful. I think that she’s going to do extremely well.’
